Live Blackjack XProGaming
XProGaming (or XPG since recently) is a long-established producer of live dealer solutions for both European and Asian markets. It has a stunning assortment of live games including, among others, blackjack, roulette, baccarat variants and Caribbean poker. The reviewed game is a classic seven-seat blackjack with the Bet Behind feature and a standard set of player-friendly rules.
Video and audio
The live video stream is of good, though not HD, quality. Players have the option to switch between High and Low resolution to customize the video to a current internet bandwidth. Another option is putting the game into full screen mode; however, the enlarged full screen video is far from perfect. You can also decrease the stream display area on the screen, which results in the best video quality. Audio settings include muting/unmuting and volume control.
Options and user interface
Clicking a button docked on the right side of the screen opens the Last Results window that displays the value of seated player’s hands in the last round. Casino chips are provided in seven denominations starting at $1. There is a hideable chat window for sending messages to the dealer and players, but the type field in the chat box is available only to users who have some funds on their personal casino account. If you have no money on your casino balance, you cannot write on the chat. There is also an option of tipping the dealer with any chip denomination.
Basic rules
As in other blackjack variants, the player has to score as closer to 21 as possible and beat the dealer without exceeding 21. The player is given 10 seconds to hit, stand or make the other decision. If for some reason no decision is made, the player is considered to have chosen to stand. The basic rules applied in this live blackjack by XProGaming are the following:
- dealer hits on 16 and stands on all 17’s
- blackjack in the dealer’s and player’s hands is a push
- blackjack pays 3 to 2
- insurance pays 2 to 1.
Bet Behind feature
No free seats is not a problem as the game has the Bet Behind feature enabling you to place a bet behind another player while waiting for a free seat. By placing a bet on the seated player’s hand, you cannot act on that hand but automatically follow the decisions of that player and experience the same result, whether a win, loss or push. Bet Behind limits are lower than regular bets and vary between $1 and $50 per round.
To summarize, Live Blackjack produced by XProGaming is an excellent live dealer solution, though a bit simple in overall style and design. The user interface, buttons and other game control elements are slick, neat and easy-to-use.
